Rig Review

Epic + 4GB of RAM
+ Plays most modern games at moderate settings
Lame - Little room for expansion
- An extra $50 will go a long way
Overall This build is made with the cheapest of the cheap in mind, but anyone who can spare an extra $50 on the motherboard will go a good deal further. If you're on a strict budget, get this thing now. If you think you can spare some ca-ching, go the extra mile (or half mile) and upgrade each part by a couple revs.
Other Thoughts The case was a pain to find, but it does a great job at cooling the parts we slapped in there. The motherboard is pretty cheap, although thorough review proved that it will be fine for its purpose. Two fans in the video card is pretty beastly!

Epic + Inspiring artwork and surprising soundtrack.
+ A twist on mechanics makes for fun gameplay.
+ Easy to play for a few minutes or an hour.
Lame - Lack of variety in puzzles and difficulty options.
- Limited to two familiar game modes: Story and Arcade.
- Repetition is the bane of puzzle games.
Overall Different Pixel tilted the board in their favor with Vizati, which ultimately fell short due to the infamous repetition and a steep learning curve, making it hard for newcomers to adjust gradually. The music and artwork is phenomenal, and deserves a purchase almost entirely based on that.

Good Game.

Epic + An abundance of class and cross-class combinations.
+ Ever-changing worlds with noticeable consequences for failure.
+ Gameplay backed by 30 years of evolution.
+ The possibility for massive multiplayer dungeon-crawls.
Lame - Graphics are obviously dated.
- Over-loopy music turns exciting dungeons into a grind.
- A price-point that is higher than most other games in this genre.
- Multiplayer is only viable with friends, as servers are rare.
Overall The amazing assortment of classes continues to beckon me back to the dungeons, even after weeks of play. Din’s modding community shows promise, and the developer is extremely active on their forums. It’s a fun group to be a part of.

Epic + If pure action were moonshine, this would be moonshine.
+ Explosions and general FX are pleasing.
+ Audio is fantastic at accomplishing a fear-invoking environment.
+ Generally short-term.
+ Affordability gives this a major score boost.
Lame - The voice acting is unbearable.
- AI lacks the “I”.
- Missions lack any inspiration and generally inspire rage.
- Generally short-term.
Overall In the end it’s a lot of left-mouse button (or equivalent fire button), and the saving grace is probably multiplayer. Boredom will inevitably set in, but using the in-game voice chat and matchmaker (or co-op with a friend) will keep you playing until the $20 you spent is long forgotten.

Epic + Remarkable gameplay and intuitive combat.
+ 64-player brutality makes for endless fun, especially with clanmates.
+ A handful of multiplayer modes enables gamers to find what suits them.
+ Medieval combat is something that is largely untouched in the multiplayer space, and it was a worthwhile risk.
Lame - Graphics and Audio are merely OK.
- No integrated clan system in a game begging for one.
- Singleplayer is similar to the original, discouraging veterans from returning for long.
- Balance issues.
Overall Fantastic multiplayer in a niche setting. Get this one.

Epic -A return back to what Diablo once was. Where Blizzard has strayed from the original series, Runic has picked up the staff and carried on.
-The artificer (effectively the mage) is one of the coolest magic-based classes I have seen in a dungeon-crawler.
-Player pets are a unique addition, and although they promote laziness, they are definitely great to have around.
-High loot drop ratio makes the game feel like 1st edition Dungeons & Dragons. All they need now is the ability to dupe items, like in Diablo ;)
-There's a lot more to the town than in other dungeon-crawlers, making for a scenario that feels more realistic.
Lame -AI pathfinding at times is inept. I teamed up with a destroyer on one of the first few levels, he constantly dashed back and forth, never properly following me.
-Torchlight is not necessarily something you could play over and over again. If they add multiplayer (which I have seen mods out there for), it would be a fantastic game.
-Multiplayer would definitely bump this up a couple of points.
Overall Torchlight makes me nostalgic for the original dungeon delving games. The graphics are certainly different for the genre, bordering more on Dungeon Runner than Diablo. This is one of those great games you can play for 30 minutes at a time or a few hours at a time. Unfortunately, the lack of multiplayer means a lack of longevity, making Torchlight increasingly repetitive after the first 6-10 hours of play.

Epic Graphics, visual effects, realistic physics and fire. Tough AI, above-average gameplay flow (Keyboard + Mouse), straight forward.
Lame Stupid AI, you have no friends in the game, everything hates you, Africa is freaking HUGE, no true sense of direction, no feeling of accomplishment. Did I mention no one wants to be your friend?
Overall Meh. Worth $20.
