No matter how much hype surrounds a game at initial launch and no matter who the maker is, even great games inevitably become stale and tiresome. Luckily, series that are backed by huge modding communities -- like the Elder Scrolls games or the Baldur's Gate community -- possess the astounding ability to imbue a fading game with invigorating content, potentially bringing a dying breed back to life.

This total Skyrim Overhaul includes the best Skyrim graphics mods, content mods, and mechanics changes to date. We'll briefly cover some of the worst Skyrim crashes and how to fix them, as well.

As with Oblivion and Morrowind before it, Skyrim's community sprung to life at the drop of the official modding kit, and although our previous graphics mod article was entirely comprised of core hacks, the ones below have had time to mature and grow on the fully-functional toolkit. Total conversion mods haven't yet begun to flourish, but we can combine multiple mods to achieve something close.

Let's dive into the graphics, content, and mechanical/functional mods that you should consider!

Note: Due to page load times and high server demand, we've split this article into three clean, easy sections: Graphics, Content, and Mechanics Fixes.

Hey there. Most of the mods should still be compatible with the newest DLC / ex-packs and patches, just check the individual mod pages for "known issues" or FAQ sections. I don't believe you'll see any problems with most of them, though.

Thank you for your help, I will try it out :D

Did you use both of those lighting mods (Realistic Lighting Mod and Realistic Colors and Real Nights), one on top of the other? Or were you referencing them as either or?

Opt for one or the other -- it's a matter of preference (RCRN is preferable for me - it's a bit less bloom-y).

Everyone knows that skyrim was made for the 360, stop pullin bullshit facts out of your ass

    Are you an idiot?
The Elder Scrolls series of games have always been made for the PC, Microsoft saw their chance to make big money on this next game (Skyrim) so they payed Bethesda some big money to do it, end of story, that's also why Dawngaurd has only come out for Xbox. I'm not kidding take 2 seconds to google that shit.

Skyrim was MADE for the consoles not the PC. Do you even see the UI? It's f**king horrible for Skyrim PC users. FYI Dawnguard came out almost a month ago. Where the f**k have you been?

PC is where bethseda makes its money, just go look up the profits.

Then there is the undeniable fact the game experience is better on PC, hell you can't even use high definition textures on console.

Are half the people here retarded SKYRIM WAS MADE THE PC NOT THE 360. Jesus
