The Creation
by Davgretor GleamingTeal, an Aquatic Elf
First there was Dur-Knaaxk. He was bored so he created a huge lake of pure water where he could swim. Soon swimming became dull, so he created diamonds that would shine and bring light to the lake. Next he created diamonds of all shapes and colors to beautify his creation. However Dur-Knaaxk was still alone, so he created "The People of the Lake". In time he created all manner of life to sustain The People. Everyday forever, The People swim and live his creation.
After a time Dur-Knaaxk left The People to further the creation of the world. He created a giant redwood-esque holt (forest). Next he took a handful of The People from the lake, blew the holt life into them and left them to tend to the forest. However he soon saw the wood elves were much to small to properly care for his holt, so he created the weald giants. These goodly forest giants tend to every newborn sapling by holding back the forest canapy until the sapling is grown and can touch the sky on it's own. However as the ages passed the wize Dur-Knaaxk realized that while the wood elves loved the forest, they missed the lake. Dur-Knaaxk was so touched by the sadness that he changed himself into a holt giant and swore he would never leave his children so they could love the forest and no longer morn.
Next Dur-Knaaxk the dragon took a diamond from his back added water from the lake, wood from the forest and pressed them together in his hands. He pounded until the elements combined. Then he stretched and pulled on this mass until he had created a colossal mountain range. These mountains are so far from the ground that the peaks are alwasy covered with white snow.
Next he returned to Diamond Lake to visit Tathsumé as she was pregnet with twins, one boy and one girl. Dur-Knaaxk the wise, stated he was seeking a mother to create a new race of elves to inhabit the mountains. He told her of the sorrow he had caused the wood elves since he took them from the lake to tend the forest. However her unborn children would not know the lake, so they would never have that sorrow. Tathsumé readily agreed to give up her children. Dur-Knaaxk filled them with master skills in mountain mining and construction. Next Dur-Knaaxk poked a hole in the mountain with his finger, took a breathe of the mountain into his lungs and glently blew it into children. He then put the unborn children into the hole and closed the mountain over it. Dur-Knaaxk regularily checked on the children and realized that they were slowly making progress because they were unable to work the minerals and ores in the mountain to its full potential. Dur-Knaaxk imbued mastery of mountain smelting to the dwarves. Years later Tathsumé feared for her children, so she begged Dur-Knaaxk to imbue her children with a powerful passion for the mountains to ensure they would never miss the Great Diamond Lake and Dur-Knaaxk did as she wished on his next visit to the dwarves
