Hardware Sales – Logitech G27 Racing Wheel ($239), i5-4690K ($230), & More

Posted on August 16, 2015

What a long weekend. We've been furiously efficient lately and had three active members in the GN lab throughout Saturday, which led to production of a unique review and testing of forthcoming products. As we tend to do one day per weekend, we're taking it easier today and leaving you all with a simple sales round-up. This weekend, we found the Logitech G27 racing wheel (PC) for $239, the trusty i5-4690K for $230), an MSI Z97 motherboard, and a Corsair enclosure on sale.

Logitech G27 Racing Wheel ($239): Just yesterday, we reviewed Logitech's G29 Driving Force racing wheel (review here). That review indicated that the long-standing predecessor, the G27, is an excellent buy at its low $240 price-point. The wheel has had a few changes moving to the G29, but not many; the G27 also includes a stick shifter, which the G29 does not do.

Intel Core i5-4690K CPU ($230): Marked down $10 right now with promo code “INTELBTS43,” the tried-and-true Devil's Canyon CPU is presently available for $230. Despite Skylake's launch, we've found that Devil's Canyon is still an extremely high performer, is slightly cheaper (platform, CPU, and memory cost), and uses DDR3 rather than DDR4.

MSI Z97 PC Mate LGA1150 Board ($87): Also marked down $10 after MIR, the MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard is among our most common suggestions for budget Z97 platforms. The motherboard isn't top-of-the-line, but it's a solid budget platform for users who aim to opt for a single GPU solution and avoid overclocking.

Corsair Carbide 500R Arctic White ($90): With a $20 MIR, Corsair's Carbide 500R is available at $90 instead of the usual $110. The 500R is one of Corsair's best-selling cases on Newegg, offering the installation features and cooling potential desired in a high-end PC case. The 500R's side panel fan allows for superb GPU cooling, something that isn't otherwise available.

That's all for this weekend. IGP, overclocking, and GPU coverage throughout this week.
