Hi

I recently got the Gigabyte Aorus 1080Ti the standard version. I was able to get a stable OC with +100Mhz to memory and +50Mhz to core. In gaming the core settled on 1987Mhz at around 65C.

I was going to take the Asus Strix 1080Ti OC version, before I settle on the Hybrid which was always a card that I'd like to have before I decide to move to a custom loop. My question is - will I be able to break 2000Mhz on Hybrid - MSI Sea Hawk X - or is it just a Founders Edition with AIO slammed on it? The reason I ask is that after reading reviews of custom designed cards the manufacturers improve the components on the PCB or even pre-bin the chips for even better OC. And my worry is that I might pay extra for the AIO but get the same card as FE. The Sea Hawk X has 6+8 while the Aorus had 8+8 power connectors which could imply that power delivery section isnt beefed up, if Im not mistaken?

I'm not in a rush to get the Hybrid but thats the card I'd like to get at some point. I already went through few 1080Ti's. Was pleased with the Aorus and how it performed (temps and noise were very good). But if Hybrid will offer me better performance than the Strix OC with lower temps - I'm happy to go with it.

Tech City used the Accelero Xtreme III and his temps were @ 60C and getting 2025 - 2012mhz

it's a good question and i don't know the answer as it seems it doesnt matter what power phases and power limits are set as from what i've seen 2GHz is the norm and GPU boost has taken all the fun away

Asus Poseideon reportedly hits 2100. So I'd expect any water cooled 1080ti to hit 2000.

I'm not going custom loop just yet so Poseidon out of the question at the moment. But my question is are the FE cards able to hit or exceed 2000Mhz if you put AIO on them? Or as I am hoping the hybrid offerings are not just FE with the AIO cooler glued to them.

Hi,

I just finished installing an accelero hybrid III 140mm on a 1080ti FE (Zotac).

I was able to get a stable overclock: 2062MHz / 6002MHz

"Unfortunately I didn't have much luck with mine."

Why? What makes you say that?
