Hello Interweb peeps.

I have a Gigabyte 1080 Ti (Gaming OC) it's a windforce version. I've overclocked it to +105 core and +700 memory - stable in all games. Temps are 77C in games such as Wildlands and MA Andromeda with fan speed on auto @ 61%. It's pretty loud.

Performance wise it runs 1974MHz on the core. Is this due to the temps? - i hate the noise it drives me nuts. I think it's the windforce cooler with similar fins / heatsink to the Gigabyte 1070 G1 i owned before i upgraded with an extra 2 copper heatpipes.

Performance wise, is this the norm as i see many memory overclocks limited to 300 mark.

I've also ordered an Asus Strix ROG OC 1080 Ti and i'm considering returning the Gaming OC 1080 Ti as it has coil whine. My RMA has been accepted.

Still waiting for stock for the Asus though so i'm reluctant to send my card back until it arrives.

Which 1080ti - Aorus or Xtreme?

Xtreme comparison - www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2881-gigab...ew-benchmarks/page-3. Anything over 40dB will be noisy. 60% fan speed would be borderline. A silent case would help.

Boost 3.0 limits voltages - www.anandtech.com/show/10325/the-nvidia-...rs-edition-review/15

This one - www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item...14-125-955-_-Product
Newegg reviews not all 100% fine either. Your OC seems about right. And temps.

I have the same gigabyte gaming oc 1080 Ti I was able to get +135 on the core +400 on the memory sitting at 2050 Mhz I also adjusted the fan profile to only ramp up past 60 % after 50 C. I sit pretty far when I game and normally play with a head set so the noise does not bother me. Max fan speed you can definitely hear the fans moving. It is not much louder then my 1080 msi gaming x at 100% though.
