Hello Everyone, My name is Pascal and I'm not the biggest Pro in the PC Series. I know not everything and searching here for Help.
I'm changeing to an 2560x1440 144hz Monitor (G-Sync) so I want an upgrade on my System too. At the Moment I'm also new to streaming and want to get deeper inside that Topic but my CPU is too weak for the Stream (OBS) and the Game Intself.
Here is a List of my Current System: de.pcpartpicker.com/list/DzLWTH
MB is a Micro-Star Model MS 7829 also Ram I dont know exactly.

Here the List of what I'm planning: de.pcpartpicker.com/list/MjMPWX
Both Running Windows 10 Pro and the Stream is at 1920x1080 30FPS

I'm not sure if the 1700x is the better GO than the 1700/1600 and I don't know if the Cooler will pass a slight overclock on those CPU's. 1080 and 1080TI is also a tricky Part for me because I want the full experience out of that 2560x1440p Monitor.

I hope I get some Information to my Questions.

Gee this is going to be a great build. Looks like Be Quiet is popular.

I've got a R7 1700 sitting on 3.7GHz - still runs nice and cool but outperforms a R7 1700x at 3.4.

Motherboards - OC3D TV (Tom Logan) has done some good research. See www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5IpXvOFtPU for Ryzen motherboard comparisons. I got the TaiChi. Asus Crosshar VI seems to be the best, but also the most expensive.

I got the GSkill Flare X 3200 cl 14. Make sure your memory is on the motherboard Memory QVL.

Getting the memory to run at speed and even getting the CPU overclocked isn't always straight forward. Have a look on forums to get a better idea of what needs to be looked at. In my case, I used ASRock's A-Tuning to OC the CPU which worked easily. I enabled XMP in bios but my ram only ran at 2400 till I added another 0.01V to dramm voltage which let it run at 3200.

Performance-wise, Ryzen has closed the gap on Intel with amd motherboard bios updates and the use of high speed ram. At 1440p, Ryzen and Intel are mostly neck and neck. See www.pcgamer.com/gaming-performance-of-ry...geforce-gtx-1080-ti/. And I hope this will improve further over time.

Oh - and our good friends at Microsoft will want you to get a new product key. I got a cheap OEM one on line.

That cooler will certainly allow for some overclocking, but make sure that it has an AM4 mounting bracket (can be bought seperatly, if not included). Some of the coolers don't have that included, since they've been sitting on the shelf long before Ryzen launched. Alternatively, some Maimboards from Asus allow for AM3 and AM4 coolers to be mounted.

Memory compatability is also a little sketchy with Ryzen at the moment, so I would definitely check what controller they're using (you want one with a samsung B die) and make shure that it's on the QVL list, as i7baby mentioned.

The 750W 80+ bronze power supply is a little bit much for a single GPU setup (550W is the minimum), so a 650W unit would suffice, but that's just me. However, on this budget, I would definitely aim for 80+ Gold (or higher). There are plenty of 80+ gold, fully modular, power supplies available that are similarly priced, such as the Seasonic Prime series or Super Flower units (two of the most reliable brands on the market).

As for 1080ti vs 1080 and 1700X vs 1700: The 1700X doesn't offer much over the 1700. Unless the price-difference is not more than 10€, I would go with the 1700. (If you can get the 1700X for cheap, on sale, a bundle, or something like that, then go for that one).

The 1080ti does have a big perfomance advantage over the 1080 (somewhere around 10-20%), but that comes with a high price tag. The crux here is, that neither of them are capable of pushing 144 fps on 1440p Ultra Settings in most games - but the 1080ti is more likely to hit 100-120fps, whereas the 1080 is more around 80-100 fps, so I would go for the 1080ti, if you want those high fps and if your budget allows it.
