New Shots of EVGA Z170 Boards Reveal Rear I/O

Posted on July 20, 2015

Z170 is around the corner. The new Intel chipset will succeed Z97, which was launched alongside the Devil’s Canyon and Haswell Refresh CPU lines, and Z87, launched with Haswell. Z170 is expected to offer similar features to Z97, including lane count, and will continue to perform well for overclocking without massive VRMs.

We recently looked at the latest Z170 motherboards in a round-up and featured a few EVGA boards, but only had a few of the company’s twitter photos from Computex. Three new images have been released to GamersNexus, all seen below:

The current EVGA line-up consists of a mini-ITX “Stinger,” an “FTW” mid-range option, and a high-end “Classified” board, listed in that order above.

The Stinger is the only of the three boards that is limited to two DIMM slots (DDR4), resultant of its smaller form factor.

All three boards include an optional I/O shield for looks. The three boards each host the same rear I/O ports, detailed below:

  • 6xUSB3.0 ports
  • 2xUSB2.0
  • 1xRJ45 ethernet
  • 1xCMOS reset
  • 1xDisplayPort
  • 1xHDMI
  • Audio + Optical

More coverage on Z170 as launch nears.
