Sonic the Hedgehog Reimagined in Minecraft Minigame

If nothing else, Minecraft has proven to be one of the most versatile, heavily-modded games out there. It makes sense: The game is effectively centered around creating your own entertainment, and what better entertainment than creating a game within a game? Don't answer that.

FVDisco created a Sonic the Hedgehog minigame/mod within Minecraft, where your objective is to speed through levels and achieve the shortest possible time; TNT springs replace the traditional Sonic trampolines, beacons help light the way, and an excellent color choice and texture pack give it the Sonic feel. It's not the same as Sonic, of course, but it's damn impressive for something created in Minecraft. The two games aren't exactly identical in their cadence.

Steve started GamersNexus back when it was just a cool name, and now it's grown into an expansive website with an overwhelming amount of features. He recalls his first difficult decision with GN's direction: "I didn't know whether or not I wanted 'Gamers' to have a possessive apostrophe -- I mean, grammatically it should, but I didn't like it in the name. It was ugly. I also had people who were typing apostrophes into the address bar - sigh. It made sense to just leave it as 'Gamers.'"

First world problems, Steve. First world problems.
