Rosewill's 1600W Hercules Enthusiast PSU; Quad-SLI & Modularity

Rosewill has, to use their marketing speak, "unleashed" the HERCULES 1600W PSU (complete with caps lock), their most wattage-packed PSU to date. As the name suggests, it's a heavy duty chunk of technology, able to handle the highest tier of gaming hardware, and probably serve as a decent blunt weapon in a pinch.

With the obviously impressive wattage comes a matching set of cables: For those video cards greedy enough for multiple PCI-e power connections, 16x6+2 pin PCI-e power connectors are present, leaving you with quite enough leftovers to comfortably run a 4-way SLI/Crossfire array. As for the rest of the cables, listed with most important first, you'll find 2xFloppy, 6xMolex, and 16xSATA connectors (all modular, including the PCI-e), in addition to the EPS12V connector, a 4+4 pin ATX12V/EPS12V, and the main 20+4 pin power connector (all fixed).

Surprisingly, even at 1600W, the Hercules is still an 80 Plus Silver certified PSU with an efficiency of 85-89%. This translates to a relatively low amount of energy wasted as heat, which is important if, you know, you haven't blown your circuit breaker with a full-load power draw. The 130mm fan's speed is automatically adjusted, with a "turbo button" for a manual boost. All this is contained in a "deluxe silver casing," measuring 5.9" x 3.4" x 9.5". Fedora and bulletproof shell sold separately.
