Necrophone Games has announced that its upcoming first-person adventure-comedy game Jazzpunk will be available for purchase through Steam and other sites on February 7.
Jazzpunk is set an alternative Cold War universe that integrates cyberpunk themes and gameplay. Players assume the role of Agent Polyblank and are tasked with a variety of missions, puzzle solving, and mini-games.
But Jazzpunk is hardly anything like the Deus Ex’s out there. Necrophone has routinely mixed-in a comedic flair that players can discover in missions or wandering around on their own. I can’t remember the last time a game let me harvest pigeon pheromones and spray them on an innocent bystander – only to be attacked by a swarm of birds like a 1963 Hitchcock film.
(Then again, I'm looking at you, Ocarina of Time).
Jazzpunk is available for preorder on NecrophoneGames.com for $15. It will soon be available through other sites and platforms, including Steam – where it states the game contains “half a dozen jokes” and “5% of recommended daily intake of C++.” Healthy gaming is hard to come by these days.
Jazzpunk’s Steam page also lists the minimum system requirements for Mac, Linux, and PC (below):
- OS: Windows XP SP2 or higher
- Processor: 1.80GHz Processor
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics: Video card with 512MB of VRAM
- Hard Drive: 2 GB available space
