The Witcher 3 Revives the "Expansion Pack" with 30 Hours of Content

Just weeks away from the release of one of the most-anticipated games of the year, CD Projekt Red has announced two paid expansion packs for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While DLC is all the rage, CD Projekt Red has upped the ante and aims to introduce actual content – with depth and everything – over the usual graphics tweaks or added skins. Via press release, the team had this to say:

"The upcoming expansions will offer gamers new adventures, gear, and foes and will feature characters both new and dearly missed -- all crafted with maximum attention to detail and quality by the joint forces of CD PROJEKT RED’s Warsaw and Cracow studios"

The first expansion is entitled Hearts of Stone, and promises more than ten hours of adventure, where Geralt completes tasks from the cryptic Man of Glass. This expansion will premiere in October.

The second is called Blood and Wine and is even more impressive on the play-time front. Offering 20-plus hours of content that adds a new in-game region of Toussaint. This expansion premieres in the first quarter of 2016.

Both Expansions will be available on PC as well as Xbox One and Playstation 4.
