CPU cooling and PSU manufacturer Be Quiet! has just announced its first high-end enclosure, the “Silent Base 800.” The company indicated to press earlier this year that it had plans to enter the enclosure market prior to the 2014 holidays, and it looks like that target date was hit.

The Silent Base 800 enclosure is advertised as offering “the perfect symbiosis of noise prevention and cooling performance,” which in non-marketing speak translates to “noise damped and ventillated.”

Be Quiet!'s new case uses 2x140mm front intake fans (pre-installed) to push air through modular drive cages. An additional 1x120mm fan is installed in the rear of the case, ready to exhaust the intake after it's been warmed by internal components. The case has space for an additional bottom intake fan (120/140mm) or top fans (2x120/2x140mm). These spaces could be used for radiators instead; the case supports radiators at 120, 140, and 280mm.

Be Quiet! has deployed silicone inserts between all hard drive and power supply mounts, theoretically limiting operating noise that normally stems from vibration. 3x5.25” external and 7x3.5” / 4x2.5” drive cages are present.

The case fits all major motherboard form factors, including ATX, mATX, and mITX. 170mm CPU coolers can be packed into the case, making the Silent Base 800 capable of fitting almost every air cooler on the market.

The enclosure is slated for a November 24 launch in black/orange, all black, and black/silver. MSRP for the Silent Base 800 rests at $140 USD / 120 Euro / 100 GBP.
