New GPU Cooling Bracket: NZXT Kraken G10 Specs & Preview

By Published November 27, 2013 at 3:13 pm

NZXT's new Kraken G10 video card cooling bracket is now available at $30. The housing bracket is meant for use alongside any Asetek-supplied CLC, including NZXT's own Kraken X40 & X60 coolers, Antec's Kuhler 920 & 620 products, and Thermaltake's Water-brand coolers.

The Kraken G10 is simply a mounting bracket for a liquid cooler, but also contains a 92mm cooling fan for the video card VRM. Standalone, the G10 does not ship with a liquid cooling solution, so you'll have to mount one of your Asetek-supplied coolers to the G10 for use as a video card CLC.

Shipping in black, white, and red (where's the green, NZXT?), the new G10 bracket is compatible with any modern video card using reference boards from nVidia and AMD. Using the same Asetek mounting mechanism as the Kraken X40 & X60 that we reviewed, the G10 is installed by removing the stock cooler from a reference board, mounting your separate CLC, then simply tightening some screws and mounting plates to the GPU. The VRM fan is pre-installed.

An aftermarket video card cooler will decrease thermals on the silicon, which in turn decreases noise emissions (from the stock fan attempting to keep up) and improves overall endurance of the GPU die.

The G10 will be available on Newegg shortly. See NZXT's page has further details.
