C&C 4 Gameplay First Look

The strategy game that would forever change the face of RTS, Command & Conquer, is now releasing the 4th sequel to the initial series. Westwood was bought up long ago by gaming conglomerate EA, but the spirit of the game still moves on, for better or worse.

In the past 24 hours EA has released some intriguing new info encompassing the gameplay, defensive structures, and overall look and feel of C&C 4. If you can bear listening to the over-acting hosts of "BattleCast Primetime," there is a tell-all Q&A session with some of the game's devs, showing clearly the elements of gameplay we can look forward to. EA announced new contests focusing on C&C 4 as well, including their unit-naming contest. In the video below, we also get an in-game look at a newly announced unit, The Crawler.

Steve started GamersNexus back when it was just a cool name, and now it's grown into an expansive website with an overwhelming amount of features. He recalls his first difficult decision with GN's direction: "I didn't know whether or not I wanted 'Gamers' to have a possessive apostrophe -- I mean, grammatically it should, but I didn't like it in the name. It was ugly. I also had people who were typing apostrophes into the address bar - sigh. It made sense to just leave it as 'Gamers.'"

First world problems, Steve. First world problems.
